An acute disease appears suddenly and lasts for a short amount of time, such as the flu. This is different from chronic diseases, which develop gradually and remain indefinitely over the course of your life.
Turn to your doctor to address your longer-term, chronic diseases and discuss appropriate treatment plans with the goal to improve your life.
Millions of people die from illnesses that could have been prevented, such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Our goal is to to help you arm yourself with both knowledge and quality medical care.

Dr. Kalan Bobbitt has been serving the Dallas/Fort Worth mid-cities since 2011. She is a native-Texan, growing-up in a small town Southwest of Houston. Dr. Bobbitt completed her undergraduate at Texas A&M in College Station, went to medical school at The University of North Texas Health Science Center (Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Fort Worth, and performed her internship and residency with UT Southwestern in Austin.
She is married with 2 sons, and loves to spend time visiting her family's working ranch in the Hill Country, feeding the cows, deer, and turkeys as well as spending time with all of her extended family. She's always on the lookout for fun exotic animal encounters as well to do with the family, and she would love to have lemurs and coatimundis (except for HOAs)!
